Only what you choose to send us through the forms on this site or by email:
The site does not ask for financial information. Please do not send documents containing sensitive personal data by email until we have agreed a secure route.
Forms on this site are processed by our website hosting provider, Netlify, which passes submissions to us. Enquiries are held in our email system and in our project records for as long as it takes to answer you and, where we go on to work together, for the life of that engagement plus six years for tax and professional records.
If you sign up for updates, we will use your name and email address to send occasional news on our work, completed schemes and opportunities across Somerset and the South West. We will not use enquiry details for marketing unless you have signed up. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying to any update or emailing hello@renshawsmith.co.uk, and we will remove your details from the list.
We use your details to reply to your enquiry, to give the advice you have asked for, and to keep a record of the advice given. Our lawful basis is legitimate interest — responding to someone who has approached us about a site — and, once instructed, performance of our contract with you. For the mailing list, our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
We do not sell or trade your information. Where a question needs specialist input we may share the relevant details with a professional in our network — a planner, architect, agent, contractor or funder — and we will tell you before we do. Our website hosting, email and file storage are provided by third-party suppliers who process data on our instruction only.
This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. It stores small technical preferences in your browser — such as the page you last viewed — which stay on your device and are never sent to us.
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we have no continuing need, or object to our holding it. Write to hello@renshawsmith.co.uk and we will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

It is not professional advice on any particular site, scheme or transaction, and no advisory relationship arises until we have agreed terms in writing.
Any figures, values, timescales or project outcomes shown are indicative and specific to the circumstances described. Development value depends on planning, cost, market and site conditions that change. Any pricing or valuation guidance we provide is given only as a general guide in our capacity as development consultants — it is not a formal valuation, including a RICS "Red Book" valuation, and should not be relied upon as such. Where a formal valuation is required, you should instruct a RICS-registered valuer. Nothing here should be relied on as a valuation or a forecast for your own site.
